Cary Preston Morgan, a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2026, at the age of 69.
Cary was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on February 20, 1957, to Ben Fletcher Morgan Jr. and Bernadine “Bernie” Gift. He attended Missouri State University on a track scholarship, earned a degree in biology, and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Cary was self-employed throughout his career and built his own company. He was a hard worker, a devoted provider, and a man who was always on the move, always finding something to do, and bringing his energetic, goofy personality wherever he went.
A self-proclaimed wannabe comedian and the true life of the party, Cary could find the smallest detail in his surroundings and turn it into a joke. He would repeat his jokes to make sure everyone heard them and understood that they were laughing with him because it was “his idea.” His infectious laughter, playful spirit, and ability to light up a room made everyone feel welcome and loved. Cary never met a stranger.
Above all, Cary had one of the biggest hearts. He looked out for others, made people feel valued, and lived life to the fullest. He was a devoted Christian and the loving leader of his household. His generous heart, unwavering devotion to his family, strong faith, humor, and presence shaped the lives of those around him.
Cary loved attending concerts, especially rock concerts, where he would unapologetically sing, dance, and put on a show of his own. He was also a devoted dog lover who adored his beloved dog, Rascal, with all his heart.
Cary is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Margo” Bryan; his children, Cary “Preston” Morgan II and Chandler Morgan; his stepdaughter, Ashleigh (Dusty) Black; his daughter-in-law, Shayna Morgan; and his grandchildren, Jobi, Ryanne, Charles, and Isaac. He is also survived by his siblings, David (Pamela) Morgan of Flagler Beach, FL; Julie (Patrick) Daly of Colorado Springs, CO; and Linda (Ken) Brown of Rye, NY, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and “Bernie” Morgan.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220.
Mass will be held Saturday, August 29, at 11:00 a.m. at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill (inside mausoleum), 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. A reception will follow from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Road, Dallas, TX 75220. Guests are encouraged to wear white and blue.
