Ben was such a kind man. It occurred to me that he was kind of like a lighthouse. He was the reliable, steady presence, providing guidance, steering his family away from the rocky shore and sharing his light with everyone. When the house was full of people laughing and talking and eating delicious food that Sandra made, he usually didn't say very much. He would comment now and again, but mostly he just sat quietly and took it all in. The calm in the chaos. I believe he enjoyed that.
I love a love story, and Ben and Sandra shared a love that stood the test of time. I am so fortunate to count them among my friends. Ben will be missed.
