Ms. Armstrong was a wonderful lady to know. I only knew her for short time, but it seemed as if I'd known her forever. I loved her and do really miss her. May God bless the family.

Although I didn't know Catherine well, I remember her as a cheerful and loving person who always remembered me, even if I hadn't seen her for years. I know she brought great happiness to all the Armstrong family, and she will be missed. She must be in heaven now with my mom and Mary and Rex playing Skip-Bo!

Catherine Lanell Taylor Fiser Armstrong was my second mother, one of my best friends and my hero. When I think of Catherine, some of the adjectives that come to mind are loving, fun, bright, generous, compassionate, forgiving, joyful, courageous, good natured, silly and faithful. Those of you who knew Catherine have seen for yourselves how she embodied these characteristics. I have received many blessings in my life, and the blessings of great friends and friendships are what have made my life so much fun and so meaningful. Catherine was one of those blessings, one of those great friendships that happened to be wrapped in a stepmother and stepson tag. My brothers and sisters and I came to know Catherine at first through those years when she worked alongside my dad at Bennett Printing Company, a friendship that spanned many years. However, our friendship became most rewarding in the years following my father's passing 9 years ago. My friends became Catherine's friends and they included her on many occasions in our social gatherings. I never felt like I was bringing my mother along to one of the gatherings with my friends. My friends made me feel like I was bringing along another of their friends when we got together, partied, laughed, told stories, traded barbs and celebrated life.
I loved to tease Catherine and say outrageous things to get a reaction and she loved to give it right back to me. Although I never felt this saying of hers to be remotely accurate, she used to love to tell me that I was “just talking to hear my own head rattle.” Of course I knew she had to have been teasing—right? Don't answer that. Another favorite saying of hers following one of my facetious diatribes was to tell my oldest son Christopher to go get her a “wet noodle so that I can beat your father.” Unfortunately, that saying caught on and Christopher learned to take the lead during one of my b.s. rants and would offer “Catherine, you want me to go get the wet noodle?”

I'm going to miss Catherine. I'll miss the love she offered to me and my loved ones and friends. I'll miss her infectious laugh. I'll miss the confidence she placed in me to manage her affairs. But I'm so much better off for having known her, having loved her and having her in my life and I know that all of us who knew and loved Catherine will be comforted by the memories we treasure and the knowledge that she is resting peacefully with our Lord in his heavenly home.

Catherine is such an inspiration to me. No matter how she felt, she always smiled and had only positive words to say. She is a ray of sunshine. I smile when I think of her.
