Cecil Capehart, age 97, passed away on May 30, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on March 9, 1921 in Idabel Oklahoma to Thad Capehart and Cheva Strawn. Cecil was raised in Idabel where he was born, and graduated from Idabel Highschool, where he was an All State Quarterback.
After he graduated, Cecil proudly served in the United Stated Army as a First Sargent from December 15, 1940 to August 31, 1945. While serving for the U.S Army, he earned the Military Honors Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart.
In 1944, Cecil married Marjorie Marie Palmer, and the two had 1 child together. Cecil also worked as a U.S Post Office Supervisor at the Dallas Main Post Office downtown for over 25 years.
In his spare time, he loved to fish, watch football, and do yard work at his home. He was also a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan. His family will always remember him as an honest, caring man who was completely dedicated to his family.
Cecil Capehart is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Marjorie Capehart. He is survived by his son, Stephen Capehart.
