Cecilia was a woman of profound faith and one that walked by faith and total and complete trust in the Lord. Her battle with cancer over the years was almost non-existent; she embraced each and every day with a smile and a will that would not allow her to slow down. She was constantly looking for ways to bring family together; she loved cooking for the family and having everyone under one roof; even if it meant that she had to sacrifice some things that she might have wanted or needed. Everything she had, she gave to anyone that was in need; she did not second guess the why, she would always say, “that is what Jesus would do; it’s the right thing to do.”
Cecilia always found a way to brighten the holidays for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; she spent countless hours crafting easter baskets, Christmas lollipop trees, ornaments and countless other items that she would gift to everyone. She had a way of bringing the holidays to life with the love that she poured into her crafts and then gifted them. Her selfless giving is something that will remain with us forever; she was known to give all of herself and all that she had for the sake of another.
Cecilia was very smart and thoughtful woman; she could sense if you were in need and was always there to give you good advice; she wanted the best for everyone. She saw good in everyone and everything; she was always ready to step into any situation and help those in need. Everyone that knew her would agree that they loved to just sit and talk to her because her mind was always open to new beginnings and bright tomorrows.
Cecilia loved spending time with family, playing bingo, cooking, decorating for all the different holidays, watching John Wayne movies and listening to Charlie Pride. Her loving, friendly, and strong personality was the guiding force in her family, keeping everyone in line when necessary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clemente and Margarita Vasquez; her brothers Clemente Vasquez, Jr. and Manuel Jesus Vasquez; her sister, Estella Aguilar and her loving husband, Guadalupe Bibanco.
