Celia Cruz was born to Ramon Cantu and Santos Gonzalez and she is survived by her children Roman Cruz, Jose Luis Cruz, Salvador Cruz, Fernando Cruz, Ruben Cruz, Alma Cruz, Blanca Corona and Claudia Cruz along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters and one brother.
Celia was born in Sabinas Hidalgo Nuevo Leon, Mexico and also lived in Nuevo Laredo Mexico where most of her children were born. Later in the 1980s she came to the United States for a better life. She is remembered for her strength, for her courage and resilience in confronting the every day hardships and problems she personally had to face throughout her life. She still wore a smile and danced as if no one was watching. Her beautiful attire was always filled with embellishments that couldn't go unnoticed. And we will never forget her nonconventional sense of humor with her grandchildren.
She will forever be in our hearts!
