Charles Cecil Moore

Charles Cecil Moore was born April 15, 1942 in Dallas, TX to Cecil and Hazel Moore, and passed away August 11, 2016 in Plano, TX. Charles’ father, Cecil, was a Dallas Firefighter who died in the line of duty.

Charles was a graduate of Bryan Adams High School, and the University of North Texas. He taught History and Government at Lake Highlands High School before becoming the Assistant Principal of Liberty Junior High School in Richardson. He served the Richardson ISD for 40 years before his retirement. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Plano, greatly enjoyed reading and cooking, but most of all he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Janis Cole Moore; daughter, Tracey Marchesoni; son, Courtney Moore and wife Lucia; grandchildren, Reed Marchesoni and Charlie Moore; step-grandson, Luciano Prosperi; sister, Doris Sharrock and husband Paul; several nieces and nephews; as well as other family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 14 from 5 to 7pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home, and Funeral Services will be Monday, August 15 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Plano, 1300 E. 15th St, Plano, TX 75074. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
