

Charles attended school in Dallas Independent School District and was in the 1st graduating class from James Madison High School. He continued his education at several community colleges from California to Texas.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 50 years. He served as a youth Sunday school teacher, a dedicated member of the New Hope Deacon board, and member of the Laymen’s Sunday school class, Sam Seward male chorus, and a Youth Boy Scout leader.
Charles met and married the love of his life Martha A Dunn on the 28th of August 1963, to their union four children were born: Malcom Earl, Cheree Mechelle, Marcus Earl, and Marc Earl Harden.
Charles started his professional career at Collins Radio (Rockwell Collins). He continued his career ambition with Eastman Kodak as a warehouseman (retried) after 25 years of service. He worked at Sears as a customer service representative and Tom Thumb, as a family project we all threw the Dallas Morning Newspaper.
Charles enjoyed traveling and trying new foods, watching the local, world news, Star Trek, and the Johnny Carson Show. He was an avid watcher of 60 Minutes every Sunday. He spent his day reading the Dallas morning news with a good cup of coffee. He loved listening to jazz, gospel music, and KRLD for the traffic report. Charles spent many times in the car paraphrasing nursery rhymes for his children, grandchildren, and all who would listen.
Charles is preceded in homegoing by his parents, Clifton Z. Harden, Elise M. Hicks Harden, and L. K. Davis Harden; four brothers: Clifton Jr, Randolph, James, and Alphonso Harden and a son Marcus E. Harden.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 60 years Martha A. Dunn Harden, three children; Malcom Harden (Briana), Cheree Harden, Marc Harden (Jinny), daughter-in-law Kimberly Harden, Godson Gavin Harrison, seven grandchildren: Courtney I. Mitchell, Brandon Z. Harden, Cameron Harden, Madison C. Harden, Kaiya M. Harden, Bailey A. Harden, and Jackon K. Harden and, four great-grandchildren. His sister Leonese Harden Holder, two sisters-in-law: JoAnn Dunn Marshall, and Wineford Lewis Harden, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives
