Charles (Chuck) Mack Harris, age 89, transitioned to Eternity on December 29, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. Chuck was born on May 11, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to Billie Bryan Harris and Reba McCrary Harris. He was raised in Winnsboro, Texas and graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1948.
After two years at East Texas Teachers College, he joined the Navy to see the world. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a Radioman Submarine Warfare Specialist for 4 years.
While stationed in New London, Connecticut, Chuck met the love of his life, Edythe (Edie) Harbert . They were married in 1953 and had three children: Leslie, Cyndi, and Paul. He was employed as a salesman in the insurance field where he worked for more than 45 years.
Chuck’s hobbies included golf, fishing, betting on the horses, and betting “the Don’t”. His friends and family will always remember him as someone who never met a stranger. He loved to talk and he loved to laugh. If he had a roll of duct tape, he could fix anything. He also loved South Padre Island.
Chuck loved his family. In his final week, he celebrated his 67th wedding anniversary with his bride Edie and his family; including kids, grandkids and greats.
