Charles Ray "Charlie" Johnson passed away surrounded in love on August 21, 2025 at age 95. He was born on September 19, 1929 in Dallas TX to Rosco Cobert Johnson and Opal C (White) Johnson. He proudly served in the US Navy (fire controlman) from 1947- 49 and spent his civilian career at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio TX, where he worked in logistics management and weapons flight testing.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially enjoying his great grandkids. He was an avid hunting and gun enthusiast, and in later years enjoyed country western dancing with friends at the McKinney Senior Center and sharing tales with the guys at the Allen Senior Center.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Javell (nee Sloan}; his parents; and brother Billy D Johnson. He is survived by daughter Debra Autrey (Steve}; long time girl friend Nellie Mccloskey; grandsons Chris Switser (Kendyl} and Daniel Switser (Miya}; great grandchildren Cameron, Charlotte, Cole, Benjamin; and numerous cousins, nieces and dear friends.
