The beloved husband of the late Joan Eleanor he leaves children William Merz and wife Debra and daughter Darlene Merz and sisters Louise Burkowsky and Charlotte Adams of New York, 3 adoring step children, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
A loving and godly man he was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, a proud U.S. Army veteran and engineering graduate of Columbia University. He was a longtime devoted golfer and member of Royal Oaks country club, accomplished marathoner and lifetime fan of INDY 500 and the Dallas Cowboys.
In recent years he continued to engage and entertain fellow residents at Five Star Premier Retirement. All who knew him admired and loved him. He leaves a tremendous legacy.
