

Charles Claiborne Taylor, II, went home to be with the Lord after his battle with leukemia on Saturday, April 10. He was born to Delores Burris and A. Starke Taylor, Jr. in Dallas, TX, in 1950. Charlie graduated from Highland Park High School in 1968, and then The University of Texas in 1972. During his junior year of high school, he began dating Cynthia Woodward, and they married in 1973. They raised three children together, and this past March celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Charlie’s career was in Real Estate, first as a commercial broker, then as a developer. Additionally, he was an avid golfer and became involved in several Christian ministries, including Caddies for Christ. Intending to go into full time ministry, he pursued a degree at Dallas Theological Seminary, and earned his MABS with high honors in 1994. He then taught numerous bible studies in the metroplex, and began leading his Sunday School class at Park Cities Baptist Church, which continued for 20 years until his home-going.
Well known for his extraordinary sense of humor and story-telling, his great smile, and earnest devotion to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Charlie touched the lives of countless people.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Taylor Patterson. He is survived by his loving wife, Cyndi, children Leigh Cooper and husband Braxton, Clare Taylor, and Clay Taylor, grandchildren Micah and Maggie Cooper, mother-in-law Winona Leavell, brother A. Starke Taylor, III and wife Diane, brother-in-law John Patterson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church on Friday, April 16, at 1 PM. The service will also be live-streamed at the following link: https://pcbcspecialevents.online.church/.
