I am Marina, who met Chuck in Synagogue, and he started inviting me to join their classical music group, which made a huge difference in my life.
I was so happy to find out that Chuck got married, and had kids.
By accident I found just in February of 2014 - that Chuck is no longer with us - what a huge loss of a wonderful human being, with sharing big heart to people.
I am so sorry for his family. May the bright memory of Chucks life be with us forever.

I'm sorry to just be learning of Chuck's passing.  He and I met during the 1996 Alumni Weekend at the National Music Camp in Interlochen. I worked with his mother and father at the Hotel Desk during Post Camp that year. We stayed in touch when business brought him to NYC/New Jersey. I will never forget his generosity in 2005/06 when he treated me to one of his greatest loves, a performance of Manon at the American Ballet Theater. The following year I visited Chuck and his family at their home in Dallas.  My thoughts and prayers are with them. A true gentleman who is sincerely missed. Blessings, Brian Gill

I'm sorry to say I never got to know Chuck in the 2 years I attended OPRF High School, but we did connect on FB. He encouraged me to go to the reunion, but then I heard nothing. I was shocked to hear he passed away. He had a wonderful way of connecting and promoting a good common cause. My sympathy goes out to his family, for I'm sure he will be sorely missed.

Chuck had a great attitude toward life and will be missed by many people. It’s hard to go on without him, but we can all be thankful for having known him. Thanks for being such an upbeat friend Chuck - Bruce Lehman (Oak Park, IL).

Paula and Cathy said it all so well already. Chuck was such a great guy, before and after HS and will be so missed by everyone. I was fortunate enough to know Chuck all 4 years at OPRFHS. He was one of my best friends in high school, in choir and various classes. He was a very talented guy, not only a great pianist but he had a fine singing voice too. And he was a great friend to me after HS; he would call and email me. At the 30th reunion he called me the morning of our breakfast and asked me to come by, because we missed each other the night before. I got there and we sat and chatted all morning, him and me. We confided in each other our thoughts and feelings, mostly about school; I haven’t done that with any other high school friend as much as him. I can’t say enough about what he meant to me, and to everyone who knew him. His friendship and kindness and great spirit and karma and the rest of it, will endure with me the rest of my life. He’ll always be a part of me. My deepest thoughts go out to his family and friends.

When I heard the news about Chuck, it took my breath away. I knew Chuck from high school and he always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. Pretty amazing at our huge suburban high school. I was grateful that Chuck went to all that effort to chair our high school reunions...a truly thankless job. He was a wonderful musician, too. He was so proud of his family! Chuck Zamutt was a splendid human being and we all are better off having known him.

I worked with Chuck at Greiner Bio One and considered him a friend. He loved his family and his heart was almost too big for his body.  My condolences to his family and all who loved him.

Chuck was one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of knowing. I first met him in choir at OPRFHS where he was an incredible accompanist. I had made an attempt at feeble accompaniment and then I saw Chuck sight read and play without a flaw. He was twenty times better than I so I gladly stopped trying and went back to singing in the alto section. Chuck always had a wonderful smile and was upbeat, no matter what the circumstances were. He had a gift for bringing people together and making connections for high school alums as well as connecting people with similar passions - music, film, etc. I know he adored his family and his friends. I had not known Chuck well for many years, but was truly shocked to discover he was gone.  Life is unfair.  My condolences to all his family and many friends.

Chuck has influenced so many of our lives as evidenced by the many messages left in his honor.  My thoughts and prayers are with his young family and may God be with you.

I met Chuck in 1969 when he played tuba in Symphony of Oak Park-River Forest and also played piano in high school.  Altho he disappeared for 30 years we got together again at the 2001 music reunion and I've really enjoyed keeping in contact with him about the people we both knew.  I will really miss him.

Jeanne, I can't tell you how sad my heart was when I read that Chuck had passed away.  He was an incredibly kind man. I am so sorry.

Chuck was a fellow member of Pro Musica and was an excellent accompanist.  My last memory of him was when I asked him to turn pages for me for a soprano I was accompanying, and he replied, "It would be an honor."  In fact, the honor was all mine.  God bless you, Chuck.

Chuck was the Sunday school teacher for my son. While it might not be easy to teach 1st graders, Chuck was a role model by showing such focus and care for his students.  He even gave Border's gift cards to every student for them to further their knowledg.  What a great guy!

The loss of someone so close is difficult to bear.We share your grief.We will all really miss him and always love him.

I met Chuck about 15 years ago when we both had children at the Richardson Classical Magnet School and we were organizing a Dads' Club.  He impressed me then with his constant good cheer and happy disposition.  Afterwards, I saw him rarely, and although I knew he carried some burdens, he did so graciously and continued to bring enthusiasm and bright feelings whenever we happened to meet.  He left a very warm impression on me, and I am deeply sorry to learn of his passing.  I hope his family will find comfort in many happy memories of him.

Our hearts are heavy as we learned the passing of Chuck.  Heaven has gained another angel and he will forever be in our hearts.  Love to his family!!

22 years ago one of my employees asked if I would be interested in being an AZA advisor. I met Chuck when I became an AZA advisor for Morton Lewis. Chuck was a man that I would probably have never met or known except for this.
I stayed in contact with Chuck through our time as advisors and as friends as our children have grown.
One of the good guys is gone and will be missed.

I have known Chuck and family since childhood. My deepest sympathies go out to his wonderful family. Chuck was a kind and special person.

Chuck was an instrumental part of my formative experiences in my life as an advisor in BBYO and as a friend for many years after.  He was always there with a willing ear, wonderful smile, tremendous insight, and usually a comical story.  He helped me through some very rough patches and for that, I will be eternally grateful.  We remained friends and in contact for 25 years.  I am filled with only happy memories of Chuck, and I know that his spirit will live on in friends, family and all whom he touched. I didn't know Chuck face to face...but we met on facebook...he had known my son, Eamonn Lacey, who died in 1997.  I am so sorry for your loss ...but I know in my heart that he is in the company of good friends and family.......out of our sight, but never far from our hearts and minds.
