Christion Bingham, lovingly known to family and friends as “Cree” and famously recognized as the funniest Bingham, passed away on November 19th at the age of 23. He left this world unexpectedly leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, brilliance, and unforgettable memories.
Cree was born on March 18, 2002 and from the very beginning, he had a presence that lit up every room he entered. He possessed a rare and beautiful combination of sharp intelligence and deep emotional sensitivity. Blessed with a photographic memory, he remembered every family moment, every story, every detail — a gift that amazed everyone who knew him.
He was deeply family-oriented — a protector, a giver, and a young man whose love ran deep and genuine. His humor was unmatched; his quick wit and playful spirit brought joy to every gathering. Cree didn’t just make people laugh — he made them feel connected, seen, and valued.
He loved nature, often taking peaceful walks where he found comfort in the quiet beauty of the outdoors. Many of his most meaningful conversations and moments were shared during walks with his mama and other family, where he opened his heart, reflected on life, and allowed himself to be understood. Those moments revealed his gentleness, his wisdom, and his desire to find peace.
Cree lived with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder — illnesses that brought heavy battles, yet never stole his kindness, his intelligence, or the purity of his heart. Mental illness is not caused by one incident, one choice, or one moment; it is a condition that can affect anyone when life becomes too heavy and the bridge inside the mind breaks under pressure. Cree fought bravely, day after day, with more strength than most will ever know.
During a period of profound confusion and mental distress, Cree was involved in a tragic event in which multiple individuals were harmed. As a family, we acknowledge this with deep sorrow and sincere compassion for all those affected.
This heartbreaking act did not reflect the son, brother, or young man we knew. It was the result of a mind that was overwhelmed by illness and no longer able to distinguish reality clearly.
Our deepest prayers go out to the victims and their families. We carry them in our hearts, and we ask for continued healing, comfort, and peace for everyone affected. This tragedy weighs on us profoundly, and we hold them in our thoughts with sincere compassion.
Even through his darkest moments, Cree held onto his faith. He knew Jehovah loved him, understood him, and never abandoned him. And we take comfort in knowing he is now at rest — his mind quiet, his burdens lifted, in the loving arms of the One who can restore him completely, bring him back in perfection, and return him to the beautiful, whole, healthy version of himself that we all knew and cherished.
He is survived by his brother, Zachary Bingham, mother, LaTasha Bingham and step father Jarvis Martin, and his father, Benjamin Bingham.
We would like to especially thank all of the family and friends who loved and supported Cree through his struggles and never abandoned or turned their backs on him in his most difficult moments, you know who you are.
And for all, may you carry his memory, his laughter, his love, and the lessons of his life with you always. May your memories of Cree make you more compassionate, kind and less judgemental of others.
Son, though your time on earth was far too short and we will miss you everyday - your hope is secure. It's never goodbye my baby, in your words it's, "I'm a see ya".
A celebration of Cree’s life will be held on December 6, 2025 at 2 p.m. where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and hold onto the hope that we will see him again.
Rest peacefully, Cree.
Your fight is over, but your love lives on.
We love you so much, always will.
