He was the sixth child of ten children born to this union. Christopher Calhoun passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021. Chris’ father Jerry Mitchell Calhoun, and two brothers, Zelmo Calhoun and Jerry Calhoun, preceded him in death.

Education was very important to Chris. His academic and athletic career began at a young age and was cultivated through the years. In 1989, Chris graduated from David W. Carter High School. In 1989-1992, Chris took his athletic talent and pursuit of higher education to Oklahoma State University, where he studied for a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In 1999, Chris graduated from Devry Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Electrics Engineering Technology. Chris completed his Master of Computer Science in Networks and Telecommunications at The University of Texas at Dallas in 2002-2003. Chris was a Sr. Engineer at Netscout for 14 years, were he touched the lives of many. Chris enjoyed working out, researching his family genealogy, gaming, football, running and studying science.

As many of you know, Chris was a very loving man that valued and provided for his family. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Chris during his 50 years among us. To us who loved him, he was the smartest man in the world. Chris was patient, genteel, fastidious in his appearance, intellectually gifted and had tremendous natural athletic ability. We called him the HULK! He provided countless lifelong memories for his children, siblings, friends and extended family members that we will cherish forever. Chris’ departure from this life was too soon for us, but we know that he lived a full and happy life. We are honored to been able to celebrate the dash between the day he entered this world and the day he left and we encourage you to do the same.

Left behind to carry on Chris’ legacy is his beloved wife of 25 years, Cathryn A. Calhoun of Frisco, TX, a daughter; Christen C. Calhoun of Dallas, TX, sons; Cassius J.J. Calhoun of Oklahoma City, OK, Christopher J. Calhoun of Frisco, TX and Caleb C. Calhoun of Frisco, TX, along with his granddaughter “Charity” of Oklahoma City, OK. My sincerest condolences to the Calhoun group of family and friends. Chris had an incredible work ethic at OSU and was very devoted to success. I have always been proud to be a part of the OSU class of athletes that have come in...Chris was hard working and disciplined and the fun part was to put a smile on his face ...I'll always remember seeing that smile.

Chris and I used to work out in office gym after hours. We had a good time talking about his prior football experience, and every now and then we would talk about a project that was giving us problems. Chris was a person you could ask for assistance, or just run a question by him and he was always willing to help. It's a shame the good ones go to quick. He was a good man and friend and will be missed.
