Claire Lowndes Weisheit Jones was born on November 14, 1929 in Norwalk, Connecticut, to parents Norman Joseph Weisheit and Sarah Lowndes Wells. She passed away on October 29, 2016, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Claire graduated from the Thomas College Preparatory School in Rowayton, Connecticut, and attended the Connecticut State Teachers College. She later met and married the love of her life George C. Jones on December 24, 1963. In her youth, Claire enjoyed sailing on Long Island Sound. She was a voracious reader and had a very extensive collection of books. Claire will be truly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George C. Jones; sons, George S. Jones and wife Moraima, Mason Russell Jones and wife Kelley; son-in-law Alan Weaver; grandchildren Jordan Jones, Lauren Jones, Jennifer Jones, Nicholas Jones, Ewan Jones, Larissa Dayton Mulhall, Brianna Weaver, and Alicia Weaver; brothers Richard H. Weisheit of Norwalk, CT and Robert W. Seabury of Dallas, TX. Claire was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Winthrop Jones and daughter, Gianna Wells Jones Weaver.
