

A celebration of the life of Clare Gilman Goodrich, 97, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2525 N. Buckner Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75228, conducted by Dr. Paul Brown with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 5 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225.
Clare was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Ogden, Utah, and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Dec. 31, 2017. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Weber State University in Moscow, Idaho. She married Jack Goodrich Nov. 26, 1946, and they were married for 59 years. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Elmo Gilman and Mary Elizabeth Williams; a son, Riley Goodrich; and a grandson, Blake Harris. Clare was a homemaker and a successful Avon sales representative for over 40 years.
Clare was devoted to her family and loved Christmas and family reunions. She cherished the many friendships she made over the years with Avon customers, her church and extended families, bridge and birthday clubs, and long-time neighbors who loved and supported her. Clare’s favorite response was the Psalms quotation “My cup runneth over” to express how blessed she felt in life.
Survivors include sons, Jim Goodrich and wife, Connie, of McKinney, and Scott Goodrich and wife, Robbie, of Nacogdoches; daughters, Laurie Perricone and husband, Charles, of Henderson, and Wendy Stuart and husband, Tim, of Plano; grandchildren, Ashley Harris, Glenn Goodrich and wife, Sue, Matt Perricone and wife, Sydney, Jamie Starcevich and husband, Elliot, Allison Helms and husband, Cory, and Lauren Harris; step-grandchildren, Blake and Reid Stuart; and great-grandchildren, Madison Chase, Hank Starcevich and Genevieve Goodrich. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Gage, Paul Bohme and Scott Morris.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to caregivers Melinda Davis, Elisa Owen and Alyce Haverdink, along with special neighbors Chris Gage, Paula Jackson and Annabelle Bohme.
Memorials in Clare’s memory may be made to New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
