

2015. She was born on January 3, 1936 in Racine, WI to the late Carl M.Baumann and Helen
Schmidt Baumann and one brother, the late Robert Baumann.
Clare graduated with a degree in Education from Purdue University. She was a member of
the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and later moved to Chicago to teach Braille at the Institute for
the Blind. There she met the love of her life, and husband of 46 years, the late K. Ronald
Rothmeyer. They came to Dallas on their honeymoon and never left. After spending some
time raising her family, Clare was hired by the United Way of Greater Dallas in their
Information and Referral department. She is credited with developing the 211 call system
for information in the Dallas area. Because of her leadership and vision she was honored
with an award named after her. The Clare B. Rothmeyer Distinguished Service Award was
started in 2000 and has continued to honor hard working, devoted and innovative leaders
in the area of information and referral for the past 14 years.
Clare is survived by her three daughters, and their husbands; Stacy and Matt Loeffler of
Rockwall, TX,Darcy and Dean Christal of Santa Barbara, CAand Kaylie and Dub Summers of
Dallas, TX.She was the proud grandmother of Kaleigh, Kyle,Brett and Berkeley Loeffler,
Maxx,Macy, Maud and Miles Christal and Jack and Kate Summers.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ
and the Catholic Church. Her selfless sacrifice and devotion to her family and friends will
never be forgotten.
