

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas July 13, 1934 and passed away January 3rd, 2026. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1951 having been elected a class favorite. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1955 where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, a Rotunda Beauty, Cotton Bowl Princess, Freshman Homecoming Queen, Honorary Lt. Colonel of the ROTC and SMU representative to Southwest Conference Schools Homecoming Courts. She became a teacher with the Dallas Independent School District and was named Teacher of the Year in 1956 and was presented and honored at the State Fair of Texas. Claudette served as President of the Dallas Chi Omega Alumnae and Named Outstanding Chi Omega of the Year in 1985. She served as President of the Chi Omega Mothers’ Club, President two years of the SMU Mothers’ Club and served 4 years on the Executive Board of the SMU Alumni Assn. She chaired the first Taste of Dallas Restaurant Association and was President of the Robert S. Hyer PTA in the Highland Park Independent School District. She loved volunteering in their school cafeteria where she cashiered over 50 years. Claudette loved her church Park Cities Baptist where she taught and directed Sunday School and VBS for 48 Years and was the administrator of the Ladies Bible Study for over 30 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bill and their five children, Laura Ballard, Becky (Jim White), Eleisha (Craig Landess), Beverly Hickman and Bill (Erin Ballard), 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter.
Memorial Services will be at 10 am Saturday January 10th, in the Sanctuary of Park Cities Baptist Church with a reception following in Ellis Parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Ministry or Ladies Bible Study at Park Cities Baptist Church located at 3933 Northwest Parkway Dallas 75225.
