He received his early childhood education (Pre-K through 8th grade) at Goldsberry in Henderson, Texas. He continued his education at Henderson Colored High School, Henderson, Texas. Upon graduating from Henderson Colored High School, Claudie earned a two-year athletic scholarship to Texas College. After attending for two years, he was drafted into the US Army. His basic training took place in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and later in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was a part of the 82nd Airborne Division and received his Certificate of Completion in the Division Basic Airborne Course, becoming a paratrooper. He also served special assignments at Fort Lee, Virginia, and the Panama Canal.
After serving his country, Claudie earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Mathematics from Texas College, where he was also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Following a two-year program at the Sparta Job Corps in Wisconsin, he began a distinguished career in education. Claudie retired after 40 years of dedicated service as a Professional Educator with the Dallas Independent School District.
Claudie's love for God began at an early age. He attended Mt. Zion COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Fernando Redwine. There he learned the basic fundamentals of becoming a Christian. Later in Dallas, he joined Charisma COGIC under Pastors Billy G. Lee and Annie T. Lee. There he served as deacon, drove the church bus, was Superintendent of Sunday School, a Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the Board of Trustees. His willingness to serve was unending. He served faithfully until he became disabled, but his love for Charisma continued and he talked about his Charisma Church family often.
Claudie leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Michael Bradley; one daughter, Lois Gipson; and one sister, Hazel Wilson (Samuel).
Siblings: The late Christopher C. Redwine Jr., the late Margie N. Bell, the late Mary Louise Gregory, the late Ella Redwine, and the late Roger Redwine. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
