Born June 5, 1974 to John and Libby Blocker in Dallas, Tx. He was raised in the Park Cities and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1993. Handsome, observant, empathetic and an easy demeanor from an early age, he came to the attention of area casting agents thanks to the recommendations of teachers. This led to his lifelong love of acting. His warmth, humor and infectious excitement gave him the gift to form deep relationships. He became a welcomed addition to many families, literally and figuratively. This included his summer Camp Longhorn family where he learned as a camper and taught as a counselor for many summers, his Younglife family with whom he grew in knowledge and love of Christ, and his acting family where he came to learn and care for characters as deeply as his friends.
Clayton attended Marymount College and graduated from Pepperdine University in 1997. He then spent nearly 2 decades in the entertainment industry. Later in his life he returned to Texas to work with friends and family in real estate, oil & gas and telecommunications.
Clayton was the friend you told your dreams to; had time-bending multi-hour conversations that felt like 10 minutes. He had the ability to make the mundane exciting, the boring fun, and the painful short-lived. One of his greatest gifts to those he cared for was the fact that he remembered it all. As a result, he felt his truest wealth were his friends, no matter place or time. He will be the friend that comes to mind when that old song is heard. His families are grieving now but believe the last time we saw him, heard his booming laugh, and watched him light up a room will not be the final time.
He is survived by his mother, Libby; his father, John and wife, Gail of Dallas; sister, Elise and nephew, Blake of Atlanta; Uncle, Mike Hull of Aspen, Co; Uncle, Gene and Aunt, Jennifer Blocker of Cleveland, Oh; Aunt, Nonnie Blocker of McAllen, Tx. He is preceded in death by grandparents Dr. and Mrs. Brandon Hull; Harry II and Margaret Blocker.
A celebration of Clayton’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday,
