While Clint was still young, his family moved to Corsicana, TX where he attended G.W. Jackson High School. While there, Clint was a star running back and in fact was so good, he had a football play named after him “The Clinton Henderson Special”. After graduating high school, Clint enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent his time there as a cook and earned the title of Marksman. After leaving the Army, Clint moved to Dallas, TX where he met and eventually married M. Elaine Williams; they would remain married up to the time of his death – a total of 53 years.
Shortly after marrying, Clint began working at Frito-Lay in the Brookhollow II plant where he worked in various positions including Production, Process Training and Plant Management. He also had the honor of being part of a team that traveled to Spain, where they helped establish a Frito-Lay processing plant. Clint was well-loved and respected by his Frito-Lay family so much, that he was dubbed “Mr. Frito Lay” at their 50th Brookhollow II Anniversary celebration; even after his retirement they continued to include and him and his family in many employee events and celebrations.
Clint had a year’s long love-hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys and was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to be around family – especially his grandkids who we think he secretly loved more than his wife and children. He also loved to barbecue and anyone who really knew him knows he had a special kind of love for beans and Blue Bell Ice Cream mixed with peanuts.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Elaine Henderson; his daughter Erica Henderson; son Clinton Frederick Henderson (April); three grandchildren - Destiny, Taylor and Tiara Henderson; five sisters - Iretha Glover - Temecula, CA; Evelyn Walker (Robert) – Corona, CA; Freddie Richardson – Dallas; Gwendolyn Sanders – Dallas; Laura Cunningham – Ennis; one brother - Randall Henderson (Felita) – Houston, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
