He was born in Tryon, Oklahoma on February 14, 1934. He graduated from Carney High School.
Clyde had a career in the Golf Course Industry. He worked for Lake Hefner Golf and Country Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was superintendent at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas, and Dallas Athletic Club. Clyde was a member of Oates Drive Baptist Church and had a passion for fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rozetta Fay Nettles, and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by son, Mike Nettles and wife Debbie of Mesquite, Texas; son, Kevin Nettles and wife Jessica of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren, Dr. Branden Nettles and Britnie Nettles; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Buford Nettles of Mesquite, Texas.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, Texas at 2:30pm.
