Concepcion Conchita H. Segovia

Concepcion “Conchita” H. Segovia, 85, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2014 in Garland, Texas. She was born on April 21, 1929 in Strawn, Texas to Senovio and Marcelina Hernandez. Conchita was a good Christian woman who took pleasure in the simple things in life. She was always faithful to God and church, even when she could not attend later in life. She was always devoted to her house and family, willing to help others whenever the time was needed. Conchita enjoyed gardening and attending to her fruit trees. She cherished the miracle of growing her fruits and vegetables while praising God’s fruitful earth. Conchita is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse I. Segovia; parents, Senovio and Marcelina Hernandez; brother, Coltran Hernandez; sister, Juanita Hernandez and many other family members in Heaven. She is survived by her daughters, Esther and husband Bob Cowperthwait and Celia Woodman; sons, David and Roy Segovia; sister, Bertha Hernandez; brother, Tavo Hernandez; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Chubby. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 3pm to 8pm at Gonzalez Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will begin at 12:30pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Gonzalez Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:15pm. A reception will be held at 11:30am at Gonzalez Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
