September 18, 1925 – September 25, 2025
Connie Jones Daniel, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, just one week after celebrating her 100th birthday. Her century of life was marked by grace, devotion, and a deep love for family and community.
Born in Harmon, Louisiana in Red River Parish, to Marvin Conklin Jones and Susie Jane Durr, Connie was raised along the banks of the Red River in rural northwestern Louisiana and attended Natchitoches High School. Her early years instilled in her a lifelong appreciation for photography, nature, simplicity, and the enduring strength of family roots. Her sense of duty to her community and country was evident early in life when she went to work at the North American Aviation Inc. of Texas in 1944 supporting war time manufacturing efforts.
On November 20, 1948, Connie married Hale Gene Daniel in Dallas, Texas, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span decades. Together, they raised four children in the heart of Dallas, where Connie poured her love and energy into creating a warm and nurturing home.
A lifelong Christian baptized as a child in the Red River. Connie’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a founding member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church and remained active in the church community for many years, offering her time, wisdom, and compassion to those around her.
Connie was a passionate genealogist, dedicating countless hours to tracing her family’s lineage with meticulous care and reverence. Her research connected generations and preserved stories that might otherwise have been lost. She was also an avid gardener and bird watcher, finding joy in the quiet beauty of the natural world and often passing time watching humming birds from her windows.
Her love of reading and support for the local library was a lifelong source of joy. Her passion for travel was matched only by her dedication to documenting the many adventures she shared with her family. Whether planning future destinations or reflecting on past journeys, Connie’s files were filled not only with photographs but with precisely documented routes and itineraries. Connie found joy in weekly line dancing at the Harry Stone Recreation Center, where she formed lasting friendships and shared laughter and rhythm with a vibrant community.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Jones and Susie Durr; her sister, Ezell Waguespack; her husband, Hale Gene Daniel; her daughter, Amy Daniel Walker; and her daughter-in-law, Jan Daniel.
She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Daniel; her grandson Adam Hill, his wife Miriam Morse Hill, and their daughter Madeline Morse Hill; her son Russell Daniel; her grandson Dee Daniel, his partner Cherish Wiles and children Makenna and Brantley Wiles, her granddaughter Delaina Daniel Smith, her husband Johnny Smith, and their children Aven and Kylo Smith; her son Wyatt Daniel and his wife Charlene Daniel; and her granddaughter Angela Daniel and her fiancée Quincy Woolford.
She has entered into eternal rest, reunited with loved ones gone before.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
