On January 4, 2017, Consuelo was the most beautiful flower here on Earth chosen by God to shine her beauty in Heaven. Connie or Chelo-as most friends knew her-was the youngest of nine children (Margaret, Catarino, Jesusita, Gregory, Guillermo, Julita, Julia, and Mary Amparo) whose loving and respected parents were Eutiqio Zuniga and Cecilia (Reyna) Zuniga. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jack Flores, and her daughter Cecilia Margarite (Flores) Adcock. Surviving family members are Gregory Flores and wife Angela, Theresa Arciniega, Mario Flores and wife Billie, and Robert Flores. Grand-daughters include: Jacqueline Adcock, Emma Flores, and Nina Flores.
Born and raised in the Dallas "Little Mexico" neighborhood, Connie, was surrounded by acts of kindness and love from her parents and siblings as they assisted other families with food and shelter. A strong devoted Catholic, Connie was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sacred Heart Cathedral Church, and St. Thomas Aquinas Church. As a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, every January, Connie would host a celebration of the Three Kings at her house with the citation of the Holy Rosary, gifts and food with other members. While attending both Our Lady of Guadalupe and Sacred Heart Cathedral, she was the church secretary and was the organist for a multitude of weddings and novenas. She attended St. Ann's Catholic School and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Dallas, Texas. She also served as Executive Secretary for Insurance of North America (INA/CIGNA). One of her most treasured accomplishments, along with her husband Jack, was to provide a Catholic education from elementary through high school to their five children and grand-daughter. Her most fulfilling and happiest moments were the gatherings of friends and families at her house celebrating the holidays with food and fun. Along with many friends and families, Connie participated in cultural and folkloric celebrations throughout Dallas.
Our faith and prayer is that Our Lady of Guadalupe caress Consuelo in her loving arms as she is called by God to her eternal rest in heaven. The Flores family wishes to express our sincerest thanks for the support in prayer, thoughts, and loving expressions from each of you.
