Cynthia Marie Williams

Cynthia Williams was born on January 25, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, to the late James and Ella Thompson. She grew up alongside her brothers, Chris, Larry, and James, and from an early age developed the strength, confidence, and unmistakable personality that would define her throughout her life.

Though small in stature, Cynthia possessed a larger-than-life personality. She had a presence that could fill any room and a way about her that ensured you always knew exactly where she stood. She was strong-willed, spirited, and unapologetically herself.

Above all else, Cynthia was a mother. She raised her sons, Delvin, DeShawn, and Reginald Jr., with a combination of firmness, high expectations, and unwavering love. She was stern when she needed to be, firm in what she believed, and fiercely devoted to her children. Her sons knew that behind her strength was a mother who loved deeply and wanted nothing less than the best for them.

And then there was Cynthia’s style.

She was, without question, a diva. Cynthia loved looking good and took particular pride in her purses and fur coats. She carried herself with confidence and had a sense of style all her own. Whether dressed for an occasion or simply being herself, Cynthia brought a little glamour wherever she went. Her personality, much like her fashion, was impossible to overlook and even harder to forget.

Cynthia experienced both joys and challenges throughout her life, but through them all, she remained a woman of strength and character. Those who knew her will remember her unmistakable personality, her directness, her humor, her style, and most importantly, the love she had for her family.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory her sons, DeShawn Williams and Reginald Williams Jr.; her brother, Chris Thompson; and a family whose lives will forever bear the imprint of the woman who raised, loved, and shaped them.
