Dahires was born in Natal, Brazil, on March 31, 1936, to Enico Monteiro and Maria Izabel de Brito Monteiro. She attended Internato São José Catholic School in Recife, Brazil, and married James George Ducas on January 16, 1955 in Natal, Brazil. They were married 36 years.
Dahires is preceded in death by husbands James George Ducas and George James Bettle; brothers Uilde Enico Monteiro and Delio Enico Monteiro; and sisters Maria Glicia Monteiro de Oliveira, Marlene de Brito Ferguson, Magnolia de Brito Azevedo Pereira, and Rosa Maria de Brito Monteiro Smith.
Dahires is survived by sons George James Ducas of Austin, TX; Gregory James Ducas of Las Colinas, TX; granddaughter Roxanne Ducas of New York, NY; and other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Dallas, TX, with burial to follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery in Austin, TX.
