Damon Arnette Bufford was granted his angel wings on September 4, 2019. He was born to Bobby and Leah Bufford on March 24, 1979 in San Diego, California. However, from junior high he was a Texan and was a graduate of Poteet High School in Mesquite.

Damon married his long-time friend Dewana on February 11, 2012. To this union two sons were born – Christon and Danniel. Christon preceded him in death and Damon is now holding him in his arms. His creativity and his love for Christon inspired him to found Sweet Genius Treats and the signature Strawberry Lemonade cookie was dedicated to Christon’s memory.

Anyone who was touched by him understands that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His fun-loving spirit, great smile, gift for creating food and fun, and his amazing love for family and friends is what made him such an amazing young man.

Damon is survived by his wife Dewana Bufford and his young son Danniel Bufford; parents Bobby and Leah Bufford; parents-in-love Norman and Deidre Briscoe; brother Daren Bufford (Clarissa); long-time friends and brother-in-laws Davien Mayo and Denare Carter (Jocelyn). Nephews Jaylen, Jamison, Gabe and Dash; Nieces Dejanae, Christany and Dallis. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.

Words truly can’t describe the type of man Damon was. He was very sincere... fair... smart... witty... loving... caring... etc... He kept faith in the toughest times of his life, very resilient just like Gran. I remember him being around when I was younger, working with me; helping me study for the spelling bee, and also helping me rehearse for a school dance in elementary. He would motivate me with his humor, and inspired me with his drive and passion for things he loved. I never could imagine him being gone, but with all of the GREAT things he has done his legacy will live on forever. 🙏🏾

I was introduced to Who will always be (Brother Damon ) to me in 2003. He was the best kid listener , the best, and my first youth pastor . Watching Brother Damon in ministry was always amazing to me. I remember every Sunday I would look forward to Sunday because of this man., but there was this one Saturday afternoon, all of us kids were rehearsing for our Sunday program. As usual I was having one of my asthma attacks . My mom couldn’t find my inhaler , so Brother Damon took me to CVS to buy me some medicine so I could breathe. If it had not been for Brother Damon I probably would’ve been in ICU that night. I am forever grateful for that man and his family. May you rest easy and tell God to save me a spot in the music ministry .

Damon, last Birthday you wrote to me.. One of the realest ladies I know. Such a pleasure to know you. Enjoy your day and may God bless you to see many more. In reality Damon you are one of the realest persons I know. You always keep it real and gave your honest opinion about any given situation. You gave me some of the best advice I've ever gotten and in such a way only you could. For that and for many other reasons I'm blessed to have crossed paths with you Damon. You were such an amazing person. I will miss you dearly. Take it easy up there and keep an eye on us . Till we meet again.

Damon! I feel an apology is necessary. I'm so sorry this has happened. I've lost a friend and as friends, we cover one another in prayer. I didn't do that before it was a little too late. It was a joy to share the same space and time with you and call you friend. We never got the chance to meet up at Pizza Inn but I was able to share in other life experiences with you and sow into your business. Proud of you, I am, and I believe I made that known. Dawana, Danniel and your family have my sincerest condolences and prayers. Dang man!

Damon was a good man, and a kind soul. Here at Ebay, we have received the news of his passing, and we all miss him very much. He was always very giving, kind, and comedic; and everyone absolutely LOVED his baking. I remember the first time we met, during training, and his first story he told us was about being on a TV show for his cooking. He would then bring us cookies every now and then during training, and that's where we got to know "the cookie man". While I was only lucky enough to know Damon for a short amount of time, he definitely made a positive impact on my life, and I know that this is a great loss to his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
