

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Danny (Dan) Merritt Steerman was born on May 14,1948 and passed away on November 3, 2025. Dan was born in Cortez, Colorado to parents Marion Merritt Steerman and Marjorie Humphreys Steerman. He is predeceased by all of his immediate family members. He attended school in Cortez and graduated in 1966 from Montezuma-Cortez High School. After graduation, Dan proudly served in the United States Army National Guard for six years. In 1985, Dan met his future wife, Beth, at Fair Park, fell in love and married her almost 40 years ago. He was the first in his family to earn a college degree which he accomplished in 1994. He graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with a degree in Computer Science.
Dan’s favorite jobs were at IBM and the City of Dallas where he enjoyed working with computer hardware/software and wireless access points.
Dan was a strong Christian man and a devoted member of New World United Methodist Church in Garland, Texas. Over the years, he faithfully served as a Certified Lay Speaker, participated on many committees, worked on the security team, sang in the choir and attended numerous Bible study classes. Dan had a passion for playing his guitars, camping, fishing and traveling. His true love was anything and everything Harley Davidson.
Dan is survived by numerous friends and his loving family including his wife of almost 40 years, Beth Steerman; daughter Monica Byrd (Paul); granddaughter Wyona Booth (Tanner); grandson Joel Byrd (Vanessa); great grandchildren Dexter, Danny, Derek, Liam, Halley and Lily; and niece Zenda Wylie (Scott).
The funeral will be held on Saturday morning, November 8, 2025 with visitation from 10:00-11:00. The service will begin at 11:00 with the burial immediately following.
Always loved, forever missed, never forgotten.
