Father, grandfather, brother, husband, business owner – BEST DAMN PHONE MAN IN THE WORLD. David K Pierce Jr, born June 22, 1950 to David K Pierce Sr and June Zimmerman Pierce. His family moved to Dallas from Missouri when David was 3 years old. The day he came to live in Dallas he fell in love with this vibrant city, becoming a real Texan through & through. He was lucky to spend his “Beaver Cleaver” childhood roaming the open fields, biking & building forts as Dallas grew north. His childhood friends new him as Keith until he entered what was then Marsh Jr High School when he announced his name was DAVID K Pierce Jr & wasn’t going to answer to that “Kid’s” name anymore – A sure sign of the man he was becoming. David graduated from W T White High in 1968 with a Track Scholarship to Texas A & M University. He covered his burnt orange Mustang with Maroon & Aggie emblems to make sure no one mistake him for a “T-Sipper”. His proudest accomplishment as an Aggie was to become Training Officer of the Texas A & M Skydiving Team, just the beginning of numerous adventures and stories. He continues his studies at Stephen F Austin University in east Texas “where they had girls!” His parents tragically were taken from him and his brother Kevin within three months of each other while he was still in college and Kevin in high school. He stepped up like he always has to take charge and handle his parents’ estate and take care of this brother, Kevin. Above all his qualities, his generosity, open-hearted giving, sense of adventure – most of all he was the rock of the family. He always had your back. In business, family and with friends David was the “go to guy”. He is survived by his wife & partner of over 30 years, Sharon Preston Dominguez Pierce. His daughter Thea Shea Pierce, sons, Curtis and Mark Croker, daughter-in-law Tina Croker. His beloved grandchildren, Rory Croker, son of Curtis Croker & Jennifer Dominguez-Rivera, granddaughter Tara Croker. He is also survived by step-daughter, former daughter-in-law Jennifer Dominguez-Rivera and her husband Eddie Rivera. Also missing and loving him are his brother Kevin Pierce, his wife Margie and Kevin Pierce Jr, nephew. His “acquired” daughters Tiara Perez-Silerio, her boys and Terri Young. Many thanks to his boating buddies that were there for him at the very end. The visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Loftis officiating.
Other survivors are former wife Jo and husband Steve. Former in-laws Gi-Gi and Ted, Terry and husband Steve. He’ll be terribly missed by his oldest friend and business partner, Jimmy Watson and family.
His neighbors and good friends Bill and Kay Tinsley wanted to especially thank him for his devotion and dedication to improving our home at 3525 Turtle Creek.
Generous to all, devoted to his Oak Lawn community, a long-time supporter of the fundraising efforts for the Resource Center. He would be honored to have donations in his name to The Resource Center Dallas at 2701 Reagan St Dallas 75219.
