

A West Branch High School alumnus, he was born May 17th, 1949 in Alliance, OH. Upon graduating high school, he continued his education at the University of Tulsa where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Petroleum Engineering, and his Master’s in Science in Petroleum Engineering. A long-time employee of Kerr-McGee, he lived in places such as Lafayette, LA; Oklahoma City, OK; London, England; and Sana’a, Yemen.
David was an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He was happiest spending time at his home in the mountains of New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, son Nathan (Sarah) Kimes, daughter Addie (Joe) Starrett, son Daniel (Blenda) Kimes, grandchildren Evelyn and Wesley Starrett, Diego, and Ivana Kimes, his mother Quay Crawford Kimes, and his siblings Harry (Cathy) Kimes, Sarah (Ken) Sanor, Margaret Kimes, and Nora (Ron) Curfman. He is preceded in death by his father Walter Kimes.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Monday, December 12th, at First Frisco United Methodist Church, 7659 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75034.
