

January 9, 2015 at 2 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Hill will be officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home on January 8 from 6-8 PM.
David was born March 2, 1926 in El Dorado, Kansas to the late Frank Herbert Perry and Susie Viola (Lamb) Perry. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Irene (Gossett) Perry and his brother, James Emory Perry. After serving in the US Army during World War II, David went to work for the El Dorado Post Office. He then before secured a job with American Petrofina which brought him to Dallas in 1958 and lasted 40 years. David was an active member of Casa View Baptist Church for 50 years before joining First Baptist Church Garland in April 2008. He was a faithful deacon and 1st & 6th grade Sunday School teacher. David enjoyed singing with the Senior Adult Choirs at both churches. David coached and played softball up into his fifties. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and playing any card, domino or board game such as Bridge, Cribbage, 42, and Clue.
Those left to cherish his memories include Dave, Jr. and his wife, Sue and their children, Lisa (her children, Taylor, Tyler and Trevor), April (her husband, Matt and children, Nolan and Evelyn) and Nathan; Ken and his children, Weston (his wife, Ashley and daughter, Madelyn) and Brooke (her daughter, Jacquelin); Ted and his wife, Tonia, and son, Craig (his wife, Jessica and children, Benjamin and Leo) and daughters, Sue and Ann. Also numerous nephews, nieces and cousins and precious friends.
