

) David Richard Tacke died in the early morning on January 19, 2012. He was born June 20, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri as the eldest of four siblings born to, and preceded by, Leslie Reginald Tacke and Winifred Strube Tacke. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth and his brother Edward. Dave served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific theatre. He completed his tour of duty in 1946, leaving as a first lieutenant. He studied engineering at Arlington State College and Southern Methodist University and received a master’s degree from Pepperdine University. His business life was spent working for E-Systems where he retired as Chairman and CEO in 1989. For relaxation from the business world, Dave was an avid fisher and big game hunter. He had been a sport hunter since his childhood days in the farming country of Missouri. Dave was married to his wife, Ruth, for 57 years and is survived by their three children: David Tacke Christian and wife Katherine Helmond, Roger Tacke and his wife Denise Tacke, and daughter Sandra Tacke Swingle, her husband Larry Swingle and two grand-daughters Sharon Swingle-Runge with great grandson Braddox Runge, and Kimberly Swingle House, her husband Greg House, with great grandson Jason House and great granddaughter Jessica House. He is also survived by sister, Virginia Tacke Nelson, brother Leslie Tacke, and loving caregiver Nicolas Barrios. Dave Tacke was a great supporter of the Scottish Rite Hospital as well as other civic, religious, and cultural institutions. All services are held at Sparkman Hillcrest located at 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225. Visitation Service will be held Sunday January 22, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be held January 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
