

David Nelson Tippery passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025. David was born in Fort Sill, OK and was the son of Cleo & Katherine Tippery. David was an Army brat in his early years spending time in Oklahoma, Colorado, California, Wisconsin, and Hawaii. When his dad left the Army, David’s family lived in Wisconsin before settling in Amarillo, Texas.
David moved to Dallas in his early 20s and worked at various jobs and eventually became a professional residential mover. In recent years in addition to working for the moving company David started doing “Honey Do” work for some of the people he met from the moving company and his customers became part of his family.
David was happiest spending time with his family and grilling. His favorite foods to grill were brisket, pork, and ribs. He loved watching the grandkids having a good time whether it was water balloons, an inflatable water slide or Nerf Gun wars. He always wore his heart on his sleeve and was fiercely protective of those he loved.
David is survived by his wife of 14 years, KC Ann Tippery; mother Katherine Hunt; sisters: Suzette Tippery and Teresa Bittle; stepbrothers: Spencer (Lauren) Jonas and Madison Jonas; stepchildren: Melinda (Chris), John-Ryan (Jamie), Samantha (Fred), Krystal Leech and Michael Leech; grandchildren: Lexi, Ayla, Junior, Raina, Annabelle, Aiden, James, Austin, Destiny, Rhett, Kimberly, Weston, Elena, Luke, and Emily-Jae; nieces Cydney (Cameron), Saige (Garrett), and Rossie Jonas; nephew Grady; great nieces and nephews: Remington, Colton and Rosalie. Along with many close friends that were like family.
David was preceded in death by his father Cleo Nelson Tippery Jr, brother Edward Tippery, and great nephew baby Kash.
A visitation for David will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a light reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The committal will follow from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75228.
