Delbert Terry Hogue

Delbert Terry Hogue, 70, was born on March 12, 1956, in Houston, Texas, to Cyle Delbert and Nathalie Ruby Nance Hogue. Terry passed away on August 6, 2026, in Duncanville, Texas. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and sister; Deborah Kay Warsinsky.

In 1968, Terry moved with his family to Childress, Texas, where he attended Childress ISD and graduated from Childress High School in 1976. Following high school, he attended Texas State Technical Institute to train as a machinist. Throughout his career, Terry worked in several machining positions and also served as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. He retired from Solar Turbines in 2021 after 16 years of dedicated service.

Growing up, his sister Connie was always a couple steps behind him on adventures, but he always waited for her to catch up. They went on many adventures during their childhood, got in a little trouble or maybe a lot of trouble most times, but always had so much fun together. They had a great bond that made them inseparable.

Terry loved working with his hands and took great pride in his craft as a machinist. He also enjoyed masonry, woodworking, and home renovation projects, completing countless improvements to his homes over the years. An avid outdoorsman, Terry spent many days hunting and saltwater fishing along the Texas coast. He shared countless trips with friends to the Texas Gulf Coast and the Texas Panhandle, pursuing trophy red drum and whitetail deer. In his later years, Terry developed a passion for cycling and joined a cycling group in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Together, they traveled across the United States to participate in competitive cycling events and enjoyed great friendship and fellowship. Recently, Terry celebrated the achievement of 12,000 miles of cycling.

Terry is survived by his love, Nanette Stracener of DeSoto, TX; his brother, Cyle Eugene Hogue and wife Daylene of Kyle, Texas; his sister, Connie Lynn Grayson and husband Morris of Childress, Texas; step children, Cassandra (Casey) Ross and husband Justin of Waxahachie and Eric Rogers and wife Jordin of Arlington; his nieces, Jenny Hensley and husband Tony of Richmond, Texas, Adria Holter and husband Scott of Childress, Texas, and Nattie Warsinsky and husband Dave of Queens, New York; and his nephews, Cody Grayson and significant other Caitlin of Allen, Texas, and Hunter Warsinsky and wife Larkin of Williamstown, West Virginia, and several great nephews and great nieces.

Terry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, his craftsmanship, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. Terry was a great brother, uncle, friend and person. He will be greatly missed by all of those that are left to remember him.

Services will be under the direction of Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232 with Rev. Collis Daniels officiating. The Memorial service will be held on August 20th at 10 AM in the chapel. A memorial will be held in Childress, TX at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your preferred charity.
