Delmer Ray Threadgill

Delmer Ray Threadgill passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. Del was born to Jo Threadgill May and Delmer Ray Threadgill in Kilgore, Texas on March 29, 1951. Del graduated from Kilgore High School in 1969. He went on to attend Southern Methodist University where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and met his wife, Lane. He graduated in 1973 and went on to get his Masters in Accounting at the University of Texas at Austin in 1975. Del spent the last 23 years working at JCPenney. He was elected Vice President, Director of Tax Services in 1993. Del was an Eagle Scout, CPA, member of theFinancial Executives Institute and theNational Retail Federation. He was Past Chairman, Department of Accounting Advisory Council at McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Del was a longtime member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. He was also on the Board of Directors for the United Way Agency and was involved with Volunteers of America. Del is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lane Threadgill, son, Mat and daughter in law Erin Threadgill,son, Warren and daughter in lawBonnie Threadgill and three grandchildren, Katie, Caroline and Wesley Threadgill. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 13th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Sparkman Hillcrest on Northwest Highway. The memorial service celebrating Del’s life will be Tuesday, June 14th at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary at Highland Park United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church.
