

In Springfield she attended Lincoln High School graduating as class valedictorian in1946. The following year she moved to Dallas, Texas working as a domestic in a private home. She joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Later while working in the home of a Catholic family she converted to Catholicism and was baptized at St. Peter Catholic Church.
In 1950 she married Bernie Woodson and this union produced one son, Bernie Thomas (Tommy) Woodson. During this time she was hired by the Dallas Independent School District as a secretary working first at K.B. Polk and later Colonial Elementary School.
In 1961 she married Earl Drayden and this union produced no children.
In 1970 after being hired as a clerk for the then Department of Health Education and Welfare she applied for and was accepted into a program that allowed her to continue her education. She went on to receive a Bachelors Degree and later a Masters Degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. She retired from the now Department of Health and Human Services as an Early Childhood Education Specialist in 1995.
Mrs. Drayden enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing bridge with her friends, many of whom she had known since her early days in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Lee Ingram and sister; Catherine Ingram, Dorothy, Jean Porter, and Joanna Johnson.
Left to her mourn her passing are her son Tommy Woodson granddaughters Alanna Gilbert, Ashley Woodson and a host of nieces and nephews.
