Demetra Michalopulos

Demetra Carras Michalopulos was born July 14, 1939, in Dallas, daughter of the late Janie and Gus Carras. She passed away on September 27, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. Demetra graduated from Highland Park High School. She then received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Southern Methodist University. Demetra was a dedicated teacher that touched the lives of many Dallas ISD students for 40 plus years. Demetra is preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Michalopulos. She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Stevens and husband Michael, and her son William Michalopulos. She will be especially missed by her two grandchildren, Jacob Michael Stevens and Allison Lauren Stevens. Demetra is survived by her sisters, Zoe Chantilis and husband Angelo, and Evgenia Boswell and husband David. She will be remembered forever by her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Trisagion service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at Hillcrest and Alpha.
