Dennis Stanford Daly went home to be with our Lord and Savior on February 7, 2021, after a brave battle with cancer. Dennis was born October 6, 1944, to Stanford and Doris (Seitz) Daly in Detroit, Michigan, while his father was serving in the United States Navy.
After graduating from Fraser High School in Fraser, Michigan, Dennis earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1967. It was at the University that he met his future wife, Gail. Upon graduation, he began a career in hospital consulting, traveling the country to help hospitals manage the challenges of the new Medicare system and other health insurance companies, and advise on administrative and clinical staffing and organization. After ten years in the general consulting business, he went to work for the Fairview Hospital Group in Minnesota. Dennis and Gail happily moved to Texas in 1990, where he worked for Parkland Hospital and UT Southwestern Medical Center, before retiring from Baylor Hospital in 2009.
Dennis loved his family and many friends, enjoyed golf and bowling, was a talented artist, loved to read and travel, and was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. His religious faith was always important to him, and this faith helped him deal with a life-long medical condition with courage and optimism.
He is survived by Gail Murphy Daly, his beloved wife of 51 years, sister Judith Daly, sister-in-law Susan Daly, brother-in-law Keith Murphy, nephew Matthew Daly (Colleen Rice), niece Maureen Daly Barone (Nicholas), nephew Brandon Malik, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Daly and his dear niece Katherine (Daly) Malik.
A memorial service will be planned in Michigan at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX, 75205.
