Deon Bezz Deon Bezz Short, 82, of Dallas, died with her family surrounding her, Sunday, October 20, 2013. Deon grew up in Monroe, La. and lived in Dallas, Tx for 44 years. What a life we shared with this beautiful and feisty woman who persevered through many hardships with grace and courage. Family filled her with meaning, friends gave her great joy, and her Catholic faith gave her hope. Deon was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Chafica Bezz, her husband Bill R. Short, and her son Kevin Short. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Robert Maturey, her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Keith Vanderburg, grandchildren Crystal and Justin Vanderburg, great-grandson Carter Vanderburg, and countless cousins and friends. Funeral mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Calvary Hill Cemetery North Chapel with Rev. Msgr Robert M. Coerver, Celebrant. Interment will follow.
