Derrick Dewayne Williams

Derrick DeWayne Williams was born on December 10, 1971 to Alicia Flemings and Leonard Williams. At an early age, Derrick accepted Christ and became a member of Grace Baptist Church, where he began his journey of faith.

Derrick received his early education at Tom W. Fields Elementary School and E. H. Curry Middle School. He went on to graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of High 1990. After high school, Derrick continued his education and studied welding at AAA Academy in Ontario, Canada and he later returned home to Dallas, Texas.

Derrick was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved watching football, basketball, enjoying good food, and spending time with the people he loved. Those who knew Derrick will remember him for the memories he created, the moments he shared, and the special place he held in the hearts of his family and friends.

Derrick was preceded in death by biological father, Leonard Williams; paternal grandparents, Viola Williams and Will Odell Williams; maternal grandfather, Raymond Ferguson Jr., and uncles, Romero Ferguson and Kenneth Ray Ferguson.

Those left to cherish his memories is his loving Mother; Alicia Flemings and his bonus Father, Danny Flemings. His siblings LaKeitha Jackson, Danisia Medlock, Dawn Willett. Grandmother, Alice Ferguson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

Though Derrick has departed this life, the love he shared and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life was a gift, his memory a treasure, and his love will never be forgotten.
