It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dewey Ivey, a devoted Christian, husband, father, and friend. He was 79 years old, born in Madison, Alabama, Dewey lived a life defined by his unwavering faith and a strong work ethic, but he was best known for his incredible sense of humor.
Whether telling a story around the dinner table or sharing a laugh with friends, Dewey’s wit and charm brought joy to everyone he met. He understood that life was a gift to be cherished, and he made sure to share his joy with those around him, offering laughter in even the toughest times. Even in his final days, he maintained his sense of humor, sharing funny stories and reminding us to smile through life's ups and downs.
Family was the cornerstone of his life. He was a dedicated husband and proud father to four children, ten grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and he dedicated his life to supporting them, always putting them first. His love was unconditional, and his presence in their lives will be forever missed.
A man of hard work, Dewey believed that dedication and integrity were the cornerstones of a meaningful life. Whether it was in his career or in his service to others, he gave his best, often going above and beyond to ensure that others had what they needed. His work ethic was a model for those who had the privilege of working alongside him. Though his hands were often busy with work, his heart was always open, and his laughter was never far behind. He had a way of lightening the mood and reminding others to find joy in life's simplest moments.
He may be gone, but the love and lessons he shared will continue to guide his family, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in peace, knowing his work was done, and his love was felt by all.
