Dian Towne Pendarvis passed away peacefully at her home in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, March 17, 2019. She was born in Greenwich, CT on June 26, 1933. A Dallas resident since 1940, she attended The Hockaday School, Woodrow Wilson High School, and SMU. Known as “Wally” to her family and friends, she is survived by her children Ann Defferari Anderson and husband, Dr. Richard Anderson, Rockford, IL, Douglas C. Defferari, Jr., and wife Jeanne, Southlake, TX, Gail Defferari and her partner Dr. Belinda Head, Sonoma, CA, Lida Defferari Payne and husband Allen, Austin, TX, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Also survived by her nieces Susan Towne Russell and husband Don, Dallas, TX, Barbara Towne, Houston, TX, Mary Towne Wade and husband Dan, Dallas, TX, and Vicki Miller and husband Gary, Georgetown, TX, and their families. Wally was for many years a partner in the showroom of Vivian Watson Associates in the Dallas Decorative Center. She served as president of the Nexus Recovery Center Board, treasurer of the Nexus Woman’s Auxiliary and member of their advisory board, and a friend of Bill W. for many years; was a member of the Mary K. Craig Class, Chi Omega Sorority, and the Church of the Incarnation. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Incarnation, 3966 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75204, at 11:00 am on Friday, March 22, 2019. A private graveside service for the family will be held prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nexus Woman’s Auxiliary, the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
