I know nothing of Diane, except what I found after she passed. I received a photo my email --- Photo by "T. Dalgleish, Beaumont, Texas," captioned on reverse "Major Samuel Clifford Brooks, Born Jan 1, 1794, Died Oct. 17, 1861, My G.G.Grandfather," recovered by Rickey & Sherri of Carrollton, Texas, from the estate sale of Diane Cook of Dallas.
Researching Diane, I find she was my 4th cousin - have Samuel @ http://www.adkins9.net/individual.php?pid=I034 and added Diane @ http://www.adkins9.net/individual.php?pid=I9059 -- (the amazing internet) -- I would welcome anyone who can help me fill in some blanks.

I am very sad to hear of Diane's passing. Unfortunately, I heard the news months after and I was unable to attend the memorial service and for that I am sorry. I will remember those trips you took me on when I was little and the laughter that we had with Aunt Daphne about the lady across the street. May you rest in peace and give my Daddy a hug for me. I will miss you both

I was so saddened to hear of Diane's passing.  Unfortunately, I heard the news weeks after and, therefore, was unable to attend the memorial service --much to my dismay.  I worked with Diane for many years as my Dept. Chair at HPHS, and absolutely adored her.  She was the consummate professional and had a dry wit that often sent me into gails of laughter.  She was a wonderful human being, an inspiring mentor, and a cherished friend.  I carry her in my heart.
