Diane M. Goolsby

Diane M. Goolsby passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016, surrounded by family and loved ones. She lost her battle with cancer peacefully at home. Diane was born May 12, 1956 in Dallas, Texas. Diane worked for the American Heart Association National Headquarters for 27 years. She was a benefits specialist and loved her work and coworkers.

Her greatest love, however, was her family. Diane is survived by her husband of 37 years, Waid Dalaine Goolsby, Jr, her 4 children, son SGT Waid Delaine Goolsby III, son Matthew Aaron Goolsby and wife Nicole, daughter Christine Diane Goolsby, son Andrew William Goolsby, granddaughters Jada Goolsby and Keirah Grant, and mother-in-law Gayle Goolsby. Diane is also survived by her brother Robert McDermott and wife Jody, sister Elaine Morrill, sister Patti Elmore and husband David, and sister-in-law Carol McDermott, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Francis McDermott and brother Joe McDermott.

Funeral service for Diane as follows: Viewing on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Grove Hill Funeral Home, Dallas, TX from 6:00-8:00pm, Rosary and Funeral services on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 10:30am at Saint Michaels Catholic Church, 950 Trails Parkway Garland, TX. Interment at Grove Hill Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to donatenow.heart.org or donate.cancer.org in memory of Diane.
