

Dianne Powell Dahlstrom, 53, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, NM, and native of Dallas, TX, died May 8, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Frederick L. Dahlstrom of Albuquerque and native of Houston, TX; step-son, Lt. William Dahlstrom of El Paso, TX; father, William D. Powell of Dallas; brother, Stephen Powell and wife, Sally of Dallas; brother, William Scott Powell and wife, Melinda of Dallas; nieces, Sara, Lauren, and Keller Powell of Dallas. She was predeceased by her mother Dewena and sister Lynn Powell. Dianne was a member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church of Albuquerque. She was employed by Presbyterian Health Care Services (PHS) in Albuquerque for over 20 years. She held positions at various campuses throughout the organization and received numerous promotions over that period. Her last position was Coordinator of Electronic Medical Records. She was in charge of the United Way annual PHS fund raising drive for a number of years and successfully led some of the most successful PHS United Way campaigns. In the early 1990’s she moved to Albuquerque after living in Carmel, CA for several years where she worked at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. Dianne spent the majority of her career in the healthcare industry and served the people and patients with joy, sincerity and dedication. Dianne was born in Washington, D.C. in 1958. In that same year the family moved to Dallas. Dianne graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1976. She attended the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta, and moved back to Dallas to begin her healthcare career in the offices of Dr. Mark Lemmon.
Memorial services will be held in Dallas and Albuquerque.
The service in Dallas will be held on Saturday, May 14, 1:00 P.M. at Sparkman/ Hillcrest, 7405 West Northwest Hwy. in the Chapel East of Hillcrest Mausoleum with Rev. Walt Lunde of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church officiating.
The service in Albuquerque will be held on Saturday, May 21, 1:00 P.M. at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Blvd. NW in the main sanctuary with Rev. David Snyman officiating.
