Docie Lee Banks

Docie Lee Banks, 81, passed away on Monday 27, 2015 at Arbor House Assisted Living Facility. Docie was born June 17, 1934 in Terrell, Texas the daughter of Jim Miller and Odessa Preston Miller. At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined Mt. Oliver Baptist Church in Terrell, Texas and worked on the Usher Board. She was faithful to Christ all of her life. She enjoyed being a school teacher for the Dallas Independent School District for over 35 years. As a young woman she married Curtis Winfield and from that union they had four children. She is preceded in death by her second husband Claude Banks and son Henry Winfield. She leaves to cherish her memories two sons; Jerry Winfield and Steve Winfield of Dallas, Texas, one daughter; Lesia Herod (Terry) of Dallas, Texas, three grandchildren Terri Herod, Terrence Herod and Kimberly Winfield, one brother; Charles Miller of Topeka, Kansas, three sisters; Roberta Jackson of Fort Worth, Texas, Bessie Miller of Topeka, Kansas and Addie Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors.
