Don was born in Dallas, Texas, on November 28, 1951, to Don Barron Sr. and Ester Loredo. On December 9, 1968, he married the love of his life, Lucia Alicia Martinez. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and partnership, sharing 55 wonderful years of marriage.
Don spent many years working as a warehouse foreman in Grand Prairie, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady presence. Later, he continued his career with Nova Charter, working in custodial services alongside his beloved wife, Lucia, until retirement. More than any job title, Don took pride in providing for his family and being someone others could depend on.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — fishing trips, searching for treasures at garage sales, watching wrestling, and most of all, spending time with his two granddaughters, who brought him endless pride and happiness. Don had a playful spirit and a great sense of humor, often joking that one of his favorite pastimes was lovingly driving his wife a little crazy. He was a simple man with a big heart who appreciated the small moments that made life meaningful.
Don was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucia Alicia Barron; his mother, Ester Loredo Cantu; his father, Don Barron Sr. his grandmother Teresa Loredo, Grandfather Benjamin Reynosa; his nephew, Genero Borjas; and many other cherished family members and friends who welcomed him home.
He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts: his daughters, Melissa Ann Barron Paredes and Julie Marie Barron Escalante and her spouse, Martin Joseph Escalante; his treasured grandchildren, Aviana Loren Escalante and Avery Elise Escalante; his brother, Joe Barron; his sisters, Rosa Ramirez, Cynthia Ramirez, and Olga Ramirez Bradley; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, including Samantha and Jared Wiseman, Michael and Pam Borjas, Tina and Luis Dominguez, Jose ("Jojo") Barron, Ruben Barron, Lupe Barron, and Victoria Barron.
Visitation will be held on March 25, 2026, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Calvary Hill. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 11:00 am on March 26, 2026, at Calvary Hill Mausoleum N. Chapel, with committal to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
