Donald Herbert Newman was born May 31, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA to parents Herbert and Bessie Newman. He passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Dallas, TX. Donald graduated from the University of California at Davis and was a member of the Air Force where he served in the Korean War. He worked at Peerless Manufacturing until his retirement. Donald enjoyed reading, gardening, watching football, playing bridge, and he appreciated a good meal. He loved his family, friends, and of course his dogs. Donald is survived by his children Sheryl Wilson and husband Scott, James Newman and wife Diane, and Wendy Trombka and husband Lee; 6 grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and son Michael. Donald was also very appreciative of the staff at Waterford for their love and caring support. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2014 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, donate to the SPCA.
